Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet is used to treat dyslipidaemia, particularly in patients with combined mixed dyslipidaemia (characterised by elevated levels of LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides and low HDL-cholesterol) and primary hypercholesterolaemia (heterozygous familial and non-familial). Dyslipidemia is a condition characterized by an imbalance in lipid levels.

Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet contains Nicotinic Acid and Laropiprant. Nicotinic acid lowers LDL/bad cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL/good cholesterol. Laropiprant helps reduce flushing, a common side effect of Nicotinic Acid. Together, Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet helps treat dyslipidemia and hypercholesterolaemia.

In some cases, you may experience some side effects like diarrhoea, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach or heartburn, headache, and flushing. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects consistently.

Do not take Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor before using Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let the doctor know if you are taking any other medications and have any medical conditions, including peptic ulcer disease, arterial bleeding, unstable angina, diabetes, gout, liver or kidney problems and other pre-existing medical conditions to avoid potential interactions.

Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet is used to treat problems with cholesterol and fats in your blood. It is beneficial for people who have:

• Mixed dyslipidemia: A high bad cholesterol (LDL) and fat levels (triglycerides) but low good cholesterol (HDL).
• Primary hypercholesterolemia: A high cholesterol level due to genetics (familial) or other reasons (non-familial).

Usually, Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet is taken along with statins, medicines that lower cholesterol, especially when statins alone aren't working well enough. If you can't tolerate statins, Tredaptive can be taken independently. Maintaining healthy habits like eating well and staying active while using Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet is essential.

• Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet can be taken with food or as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor’s instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safe and effective use.
• Swallow Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not break, chew, or crush it.

Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to its ingredients, significant or unexplained liver dysfunction, arterial bleeding or active peptic ulcer disease. Inform the doctor if you have liver/kidney/thyroid problems, diabetes, heart problems, gout, low phosphorus levels, hereditary muscle disorder, had muscle problems during treatment with cholesterol-lowering medicines, are over 70 years old, or are due to undergo surgery. Please consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tredaptive 1000 mg/20 mg Tablet is not recommended for children below 18 years.
