Tussol-Plus Syrup is used to treat cough associated with mucus and cold. It contains Ambroxol, Chlorpheniramine maleate, Guaifenesin, and Phenylephrine. Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nasal passage. Chlorpheniramine maleate works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Guaifenesin works by reducing the stickiness of mucus and helps to remove it from the airways. Phenylephrine works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels; thus, it provides relief from chest and nasal congestion, thereby decreasing mucus production.

About Tussol-Plus Syrup

Tussol-Plus Syrup is used to treat cough associated with mucus and cold. Coughing (dry or productive) is the body's way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus, or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs: Dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn't produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.

Tussol-Plus Syrup is a combination of four drugs, namely: Ambroxol (mucolytic agent), Chlorpheniramine maleate (antihistamine), Guaifenesin (expectorant), and Phenylephrine (decongestant). Phenylephrine works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. It provides relief from the chest and nasal congestion, thereby decreasing mucus production.
