Ulitas 5 Tablet 10's is a tablet primarily used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. In certain cases, it is also prescribed to treat and manage the symptoms of moderate-to-severe uterine fibroids, which are non-cancerous growths in the uterus, in women who have not reached menopause.
How you take this medication depends on why it was prescribed. For emergency contraception, Ulitas 5 Tablet 10's is taken as a single, one-time dose as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse. For uterine fibroids, it is taken daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Making dietary adjustments, such as reducing red meat intake and focusing on fresh green vegetables, can support your body during long-term treatment.
Most women tolerate this medication well, but you may experience temporary side effects like headaches, nausea, or mild stomach pain. If you experience severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or signs of liver issues, you must contact your healthcare provider immediately.
Talk to your doctor before starting Ulitas 5 Tablet 10's if you have any pre-existing health conditions, especially severe asthma that is not well-controlled, or a history of liver problems. Do not take this medicine if you are already pregnant, or if you have undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
Certain medications, such as some epilepsy treatments, herbal remedies like St. John’s Wort, or tuberculosis medicines, can make Ulitas 5 Tablet 10's less effective by speeding up how your body breaks it down. If you are breastfeeding, you must talk to your doctor or pharmacist, as you may need to temporarily pause breastfeeding after taking this medicine.
