UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML contains Calcitonin is a calcitonin receptor agonist that prevents the loss of bones that happen after menopause and helps to rebuild bones. It also used to treat Paget’s disease of bone and hypercalcemia (high calcium level in blood). Calcitonin is a hormone; involved in helping to regulate levels of calcium and phosphate in the blood, opposing the action of parathyroid hormone. UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML works by inhibiting the activity of the osteoclasts (cells that break down bone). When the osteoclasts break down bone tissue, the calcium enters the bloodstream. UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML decreases the amount of calcium in the blood by preventing the breakdown of bone. Thereby, UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML strengthens the bones and minimize the risk of fractures.

If you have osteoporosis, avoid smoking, or try to quit. Smoking can reduce bone mineral density and increases the risks of fractures.
Yes, UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML consists of Calcitonin that decreases blood calcium levels by inhibiting osteoclasts (a bone cell that breaks down bone), stimulating osteoblasts (a bone cell that builds bone), and stimulating calcium excretion by the kidneys.
Long term treatment with UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML for osteoporosis and osteoarthritis has shown an increase in the risk of cancer. Do not take UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML for longer durations unless prescribed by your doctor.
UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML contains Calcitonin is a hormone that regulates the calcium level in the blood. This hormone helps in bone formation and also helps the body to reverse bone loss. Due to this, the number of cells that damages bones becomes comparatively less, hence the bone damage is halted. Using UNICALCIN 100IU INJECTION 1ML can increase bone formation by activation of the bone-forming cells.
