Ventiphylline-LS Junior Syrup is used to provide relief from cough associated with bronchitis, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema (damage of air sacs in the lungs) and other bronchopulmonary disorders where bronchospasm, mucous plugging and problems of expectoration co-exist. It contains Levosalbutamol, Ambroxol hydrochloride, and Guaiphenesin. Levosalbutamol works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Ambroxol hydrochloride works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose. Thereby helping to cough out phlegm easily. Guaiphenesin increases the volume of fluid in the airways, reduces the stickiness of mucus, and helps remove it from the airways. Together, Ventiphylline-LS Junior Syrup helps relieve the cough.

What if I have taken an overdose of Ventiphylline-LS Junior Syrup

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Ventiphylline-LS Junior Syrup may include bleeding from the stomach or duodenum, decreased motility or constipation, dizziness or drowsiness, eye irritation, fatigue, gastrointestinal discomfort, gastrointestinal tract irritation, headache, hypokalaemia, nausea, nervousness, peritonitis, respiratory tract irritation, skin irritation, sleeplessness, tachycardia, tremor, and ulceration. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Avoid dairy products such as milk, as it may increase mucus production. Also, avoid processed or refined foods.
  • Replace baked foods, fried foods, white bread, white pasta, french fries, sugary desserts and chips with green leafy vegetables.
  • Give your child plenty of fluids to avoid a dry throat. It also helps loosen mucus.
  • Avoid citrus fruits as they may worsen the cough.
  • Let your child have fruits rich in water content, such as pears, watermelon, peaches and pineapples.
