Vibpan-IT Capsule SR is a combination medicine used to treat acidity, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and peptic ulcers. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.

Vibpan-IT Capsule SR is a combination of two drugs: Pantoprazole and Itopride. Pantoprazole works by blocking the action of an enzyme called the gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid. Itopride works by accelerating gastric emptying and improving gastric sensitivity and tension. It also has anti-emetic action. Together, Vibpan-IT Capsule SR helps in preventing acid reflux, thereby providing relief from acidity.

You are advised to take Vibpan-IT Capsule SR as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as headache, nausea, stomach pain, dizziness and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor before taking Vibpan-IT Capsule SR if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical perforation/obstruction, or movement disorder. On long-term treatment, Vibpan-IT Capsule SR may cause osteoporosis and hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium). Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Vibpan-IT Capsule SR may cause drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Vibpan-IT Capsule SR should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Vibpan-IT Capsule SR as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid.

Vibpan-IT Capsule SR is used in the treatment of hyperacidity, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and peptic ulcer. The detailed uses of Vibpan-IT Capsule SR are as follows:

• Hyperacidity: Vibpan-IT Capsule SR works by reducing excessive stomach acid production, providing relief from symptoms such as heartburn, indigestion, and stomach discomfort.
• Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Vibpan-IT Capsule SR helps manage acid reflux by lowering acid levels, thereby reducing regurgitation, irritation of the oesophagus, and difficulty swallowing.
• Peptic ulcer: Vibpan-IT Capsule SR promotes healing of stomach and intestinal ulcers by decreasing acid secretion and preventing further damage to the ulcerated tissues.

• Take Vibpan-IT Capsule SR 30-60 minutes before food or as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safe and effective use.
• Swallow Vibpan-IT Capsule SR as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, break, or chew it.

• Vibpan-IT Capsule SR is a combination of two drugs: Pantoprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and Itopride (a prokinetic agent). Together, they provide the following medicinal benefits:

• Do not use Vibpan-IT Capsule SR if you are allergic to Pantoprazole, Itopride, or any ingredient in the medicine. Seek immediate medical help if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
• Inform your doctor about any history of gastrointestinal bleeding, stomach or intestinal perforation, bowel obstruction, movement disorders (such as Parkinson's disease), liver or kidney problems, autoimmune conditions (such as lupus), or electrolyte imbalances. Also, provide a complete list of all medications you are taking, as Vibpan-IT Capsule SR may interact with certain drugs or require dose adjustments.
• Long-term use of Pantoprazole (typically beyond 3–12 months) may cause low magnesium levels, leading to tremors, muscle cramps, seizures, or abnormal heart rhythms. Periodic magnesium level monitoring is advised.
• Prolonged use of proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole (≥ 1 year) may increase the risk of bone fractures, particularly in the hip, wrist, or spine. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest required duration.
• Extended use may reduce absorption of vitamin B₁₂, calcium, and iron, and may increase the risk of gastrointestinal infections (Clostridioides difficile), pneumonia, or formation of stomach polyps.
• Report any unusual symptoms such as joint pain, persistent rash, fever, or dark-colored urine, as these may indicate rare but serious side effects such as kidney inflammation or lupus-like reactions.
• Consult your doctor before using Vibpan-IT Capsule SR if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as safety data are limited. Use in children has not been established and is generally not recommended.
