About Voriways Tablet
Voriways Tablet is used to treat a broad range of infections caused by fungi and yeast. A fungal infection is caused when a fungus invades and affects any part of the body, including the mouth, throat, oesophagus, lungs, bladder, genital area and blood.
Voriways Tablet contains ‘Voriconazole’ that kills or prevents fungi or yeast by inhibiting an enzyme in fungi, which interferes with the fungal cell membrane's formation.
In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as vomiting, headache, nausea, abnormal liver function tests, rash, slow heart rate, and altered vision. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take Voriways Tablet if you have had an allergic reaction to Voriways Tablet or any of its ingredients. Voriways Tablet is associated with liver toxicity, including fatalities in patients with other serious underlying diseases. Voriways Tablet is a pregnancy category D drug, so it should not be taken by breastfeeding or pregnant women. Antacid should be taken at 2 hours after taking Voriways Tablet.

Voriways Tablet is used to treat fungal infections. The detailed uses of Voriways Tablet are as follows:
- Treat serious fungal infections: Voriways Tablet is primarily used for invasive fungal infections such as aspergillosis, candidemia, and infections caused by Scedosporium apiospermum and Fusarium spp., especially in immunocompromised patients.
- Manage esophageal candidiasis: Voriways Tablet is effective in treating esophageal yeast infections, helping reduce inflammation and discomfort caused by Candida overgrowth.
- Control fluconazole-resistant fungal strains: Voriways Tablet is useful against certain fungal organisms that are resistant to other antifungals like fluconazole, due to its strong inhibition of fungal cell membrane synthesis.

- Voriways Tablet can be taken at least one hour before, or one hour after a meal.
- Generally, Voriways Tablet is taken twice every day for the best results or as advised by a doctor.

- Voriways Tablet belongs to the class of medicines known as 'antifungal', containing Voriconazole, used to treat a broad range of infections caused by fungi and yeast.

- Your doctor may recommend regular liver function tests (LFT) to monitor liver enzyme levels.
- To support your liver, eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
- Avoid eating processed meats, sugary foods, and unhealthy fats.
- Limit your alcohol consumption, since too much can worsen liver function and contribute to high levels of Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP).
- Stay active with regular exercise, drink plenty of water, and try to avoid harmful chemicals that can damage your liver.
- Quit smoking to lower the risk of elevated ALP levels.
- Increased creatinine levels must be corrected immediately with the help of a doctor.
- Reduce strenuous activities that can lead to muscle breakdown and production of creatinine.
- Sleep for 7-8 hours per night to assist your body in repairing and rebuilding tissue.
- Manage your blood pressure by implementing changes in lifestyle like losing weight, reducing stress and exercising regularly.
- Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
- Skin rash caused by allergies is due to irritants or allergens. Therefore, avoid contact with such irritants.

- If you are suffering from liver disease, the doctor will lower the dose, and a regular liver function test will be done.
- Voriways Tablet is a pregnancy category D drug, so it should not be taken by breastfeeding and pregnant women.
- If you are suffering from a heart problem like an irregular heartbeat, slow heart rate or abnormality in ECG (electrocardiogram), please inform your doctor before starting Voriways Tablet.
- Exposure to sunlight should be avoided while taking Voriways Tablet as it makes you sensitive to the sun's UV rays, or use a high sun protection factor (SPF) while going out.

- Don't walk barefoot in wet places such as changing rooms and gym showers to prevent fungal infections.
- Do not scratch the affected skin; it can spread the infection to other body parts.
- Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others.
- Wash your bedsheets and towels regularly.
- Avoid taking Voriways Tablet (oral form) with foods containing chocolate and caffeine, such as cocoa beans, tea, coffee, cola and energy drinks, as it may increase the adverse effects of caffeine.
- Avoid alcohol intake with Voriways Tablet (oral form) as it may cause adverse effects and increase the risk of liver damage.
- It is advisable to follow a candida diet during yeast infections. This diet excludes sugar, gluten, certain dairy products, and alcohol and switches to low-sugar fruits, non-starchy vegetables, and gluten-free foods. A very high-sugar or high-carbohydrate diet may increase the count of Candida in some people.
