About Voxivir Tablet 4's

Voxivir Tablet 4's is used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the retina of the eye in adult AIDS patients. Also, Voxivir Tablet 4's is used to prevent CMV infection in patients who received an organ transplant from a donor infected with CMV.

Voxivir Tablet 4's contains Valganciclovir, which is converted to ganciclovir in the body and inhibits viral multiplication.

In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, loss of appetite, cough, headache, stomach pain, nausea, fever, tiredness, or sinusitis (sinus infection). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Voxivir Tablet 4's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking Voxivir Tablet 4's if you are pregnant, as it may cause birth defects. If you are breastfeeding, do not take Voxivir Tablet 4's as it may be excreted in human milk and cause adverse effects in the baby. Women are recommended to use effective contraceptive measures while taking Voxivir Tablet 4's and for 30 days after treatment with Voxivir Tablet 4's.

CMV Retinitis: Voxivir Tablet 4's treats viral eye infections in patients with AIDS.
CMV Prophylaxis: Voxivir Tablet 4's prevents CMV disease in organ transplant recipients (kidney, heart, pancreas).

What if I have taken an overdose of Voxivir Tablet 4's

Take Voxivir Tablet 4's only as prescribed by the physician. Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it could lead to an overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include upset stomach, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, uncontrolled shaking, seizures, decreased urination, bloody urine, signs of infection (sore throat, fever, chills, cough), excessive tiredness, pale skin, yellowing of skin or eyes, dizziness, fast heartbeat, weakness, and unusual bleeding or bruising. If you experience these symptoms or suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to Voxivir Tablet 4's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor.
If you have a low number of platelets, white blood cells or red blood cells and kidney problems, inform your doctor before taking Voxivir Tablet 4's.
Avoid taking Voxivir Tablet 4's if you are pregnant as it may cause birth defects.
If you are breastfeeding, do not take Voxivir Tablet 4's as it may be excreted in human milk and cause adverse effects in the baby.
Women are recommended to use effective contraceptive measures while taking Voxivir Tablet 4's and 30 days after treatment with Voxivir Tablet 4's.
Men are advised to continue using contraceptive measures for 90 days after treatment with Voxivir Tablet 4's.
Drive only if you are alert as Voxivir Tablet 4's may cause dizziness, tiredness, drowsiness, shakiness or confusion.
If you are having blood dialysis or radiotherapy, please inform your doctor before taking Voxivir Tablet 4's.
