Wepox 4000 Injection belongs to the group of hormones used in the treatment of chronic anaemia and anaemic states seen in kidney disease, cancers, patients on chemotherapy, bone marrow disorders, and those due to undergo major bone surgery. Anaemia refers to low blood counts due to a deficiency of the blood component haemoglobin, resulting in a reduced oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.

Wepox 4000 Injection contains Recombinant Human Erythropoietin Alfa, which works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells, thereby correcting low blood counts and anaemia.

In some cases, Wepox 4000 Injection may cause specific common side effects such as vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, and nasal congestion. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects consistently.

Please inform the doctor of your detailed medical history, including hypertension, heart disease, heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, cancer, liver disease, thromboembolism, porphyria and/or pure red cell aplasia (where the bone marrow cannot produce enough RBCs). Consult your doctor before taking Wepox 4000 Injection during pregnancy and nursing. Store this medicine at 2°C-8°C. Do not freeze.

Wepox 4000 Injection is used to treat anemia caused by chronic kidney illness, cancer, and HIV infection. The detailed uses of Wepox 4000 Injection are as follows:

• Anemia due to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): Wepox 4000 Injection helps correct anemia in patients with CKD, especially those on dialysis, by replacing the deficient natural erythropoietin.
• Anemia from Chemotherapy: Wepox 4000 Injection is used in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy to reduce the need for blood transfusions.
• Pre-surgical Use: Wepox 4000 Injection is sometimes given before major elective surgeries (like orthopedic procedures) to reduce the need for transfusions.
• HIV-related Anemia: Wepox 4000 Injection is used in patients receiving zidovudine (AZT), which can suppress bone marrow function.

• It is usually injected one to three times weekly. However, follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and timing of Wepox 4000 Injection for better results.
• Wepox 4000 Injection may be given by a doctor/nurse, or you may be told to inject the medication at home. In that case, a healthcare provider will show you how to inject the medication. Be sure that you understand the directions and use it exactly as advised.
• Rotate the injection site each time. Do not inject into a spot that is tender, red, bruised, hard, or has scars or stretch marks.

Wepox 4000 Injection is a blood hormone. Clinically, Wepox 4000 Injection causes a direct increase in haemoglobin values and reduces the rates and requirement of blood transfusion.

Please inform the doctor of your detailed medical history, including hypertension, heart disease, myocardial infarction, stroke, epilepsy, head and neck cancers, liver disease, thromboembolism, porphyria and/or pure red cell aplasia (where the bone marrow cannot produce enough RBCs). Inform your doctor of any medicines you may be taking especially if you are on any immunosuppressants, blood thinners or blood stimulants.
