Wypod 50mg Syrup belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections occur when harmful bacteria multiply inside or on the body. Wypod 50mg Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
Wypod 50mg Syrup contains Cefpodoxime proxetil, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Wypod 50mg Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Wypod 50mg Syrup kills bacteria and helps treat bacterial infections.
In some cases, Wypod 50mg Syrup may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
