YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET is used to treat epilepsy (fits) and severe anxiety over a short period. Also, it is used in combination with other medicines to treat schizophrenia (a mental illness). It prevents fits by stabilizing the electrical activity of nerve cells in the brain. Also, it calms nerve cells and helps in reducing anxiety and induces sleep. Some people may experience side effects such as restlessness, irritability, drowsiness, constipation, aggressive behaviour, tiredness or breathing problems. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

Anxiety is a mental health disorder associated with fear, worry and excessive nervousness. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly.

YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET works by increasing the release of GABA (a chemical messenger that acts as a nerve-calming agent) in the brain by acting on GABA receptors. Thereby, YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET prevents fits by stabilizing the electrical activity of nerve cells in the brain. Also, YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET calms nerve cells and helps in reducing anxiety and induces sleep.

Take YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET as prescribed. Your doctor will advise how often you take YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET based on your medical condition. Some people may experience restlessness, irritability, drowsiness, constipation, aggressive behaviour, tiredness or breathing problems. Most of these side effects of YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. YOGAZAM 5MG TABLET is not recommended for children below 6 years of age.
