ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE belongs to a group of medicines called ‘antidepressants’. It is used in the treatment of depression. Depression is a common mood disorder, which negatively affects a person's daily life described as feelings of sadness, loss, or anger. Depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include: feeling sad, thoughts of death or suicide, loss of interest, weight loss or gain unrelated to dieting, trouble sleeping, loss of energy, feeling worthless or guilty and difficulty thinking.
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE is a combination of two drugs: clonazepam and paroxetine. Clonazepam increases levels of a calming chemical, gamma-amino-butyric-acid (GABA), in your brain. Paroxetine increases the serotonin hormone levels that improve mood, behaviour and prevent symptoms of depression.
Take ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE with or without food. The tablet form should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or crush the tablet. You are advised to take ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition and response to the treatment. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, memory impairment, uncoordinated body movements, drowsiness, low sexual desire and delayed ejaculation. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
To treat your condition effectually, continue taking ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Do not take ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE causes drowsiness, sleepiness, do not drive unless you are alert. ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE should not be given to children and adolescents aged 18 years for treating depression. Avoid consuming alcohol along with ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.
Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight
Do not take ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE if you are allergic to ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE or any other ingredients in it. Tell your doctor if you are taking antidepressants, antipsychotic medication, antihypertensives, or pain medication. Talk to your doctor if you have a history of seizures, bipolar disorder, suicide attempts, or schizophrenia. Patients with liver diseases, diabetes, heart disease, lung disease and bleeding disorders should use ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE with caution. Please do not stop the treatment abruptly as it can cause withdrawal reactions. ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE is not recommended to use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age as it increases suicidal tendencies in this population. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience suicidal thoughts such as killing or harming yourself while on this medication. Do not take ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE causes drowsiness and dizziness, do not drive unless you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol along with ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE as it may cause an increased sedative effect.
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE may cause toxic effects to the fetus. So, it is not recommended for use in women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in breastfeeding mothers. Your doctor may advise you to stop breastfeeding while taking this medication.
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery as ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE may cause drowsiness.
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with severe liver impairment. Dose adjustments may be required in such cases.
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Dose adjustments may be required in such cases. If you have any concerns regarding the use of ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE in patients with kidney problems, please consult a doctor.

ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE causes sleepiness, drowsiness, and dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these symptoms after taking ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE.
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE causes weight gain due to increased appetite. Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to maintain a healthy weight.
Do not discontinue ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE without consulting your doctor as it could lead to recurring symptoms. To treat your condition effectually continue taking ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE for as long as prescribed. Moreover, stopping this medicine suddenly may result in withdrawal symptoms. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you feel any difficulty while taking ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE.
ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE may cause decreased sex-drive, problems with erection and orgasm. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding this.
Dry mouth could be a side-effect of ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might stimulate saliva and prevent drying of the mouth.
Some patients experienced increased suicidal thoughts or actions in the first few months of the treatment with ZAPTRA 12.5MG CAPSULE. Report to your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your behaviour or mood while on this medication.
