About Zedex Cough Syrup
Zedex Cough Syrup is primarily used to treat cough caused by throat irritation, sneezing, and a runny nose in children. Coughing (dry or productive) is the body’s way of clearing irritants (such as allergens, mucus, or smoke) from the airways and preventing infection.
Zedex Cough Syrup contains chlorphenamine maleate and dextromethorphan. Chlorphenamine maleate blocks histamine receptors to reduce allergy symptoms. Dextromethorphan hydrobromide prevents cough by blocking signals from the brain’s cough centre. Together, Zedex Cough Syrup helps relieve coughs, colds, and allergy symptoms.
In some cases, Zedex Cough Syrup may cause side effects like dry mouth, sleepiness, nausea, and fatigue. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not give Zedex Cough Syrup if your child is allergic to any of its ingredients. Let the doctor know if your child has any other health conditions or is taking other medicines to prevent any unpleasant side effects/interactions.
