About Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet

Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet is used to lower bad cholesterol and triglycerides (type of fat) and increase good cholesterol levels. This reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in future. High cholesterol, also known as Hypercholesterolemia, occurs when the unhealthy cholesterol balance is excessed in the blood. When the cholesterol level is high in the blood, your arteries get narrowed and clogged, contributing to heart diseases like stroke and heart attack.

Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet is a combination of Ezetimibe and Pitavastatin. Ezetimibe works by reducing the cholesterol absorbed in the digestive tract. Pitavastatin belongs to the class of statins or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors that work by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the body that is essential to make cholesterol. Thereby, it decreases the production of LDL (bad cholesterol) by the liver. 

Take Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you should take it based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet may cause common side effects such as headache, muscle pain or tenderness, joint pain, and weakness. Most of these side effects of Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Ezetimibe, Pitavastatin or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are aged 65 years or older or drink excessive amounts of alcohol, please inform your doctor. Avoid using Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet if you are pregnant. Also, you are advised to use effective birth control measures while taking Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet to avoid pregnancy. Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet is used in the treatment of High Cholesterol. The detailed uses of Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Treatment of High cholesterol: Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet is used in the treatment of High Cholesterol.<br/>• Management of cholesterol: Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet is used to manage primary hyperlipidemia and mixed dyslipidemia.<br/>

Directions for Use

• Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet can be taken with or without food.• It is usually taken at night, preferably at the same time each day, or as prescribed by your doctor.• Swallow Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.• Do not crush, chew, or break it.

What if I have taken an overdose of Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. If you take more than prescribed dose accidentally, please go to the emergency department of the closest hospital or call doctor right away. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to Ezetimibe, Pitavastatin or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Your doctor may recommend a blood test before and after you start taking Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet to check your liver function. If you are taking or have taken fusidic acid (antibiotic) orally or by injection in the last 7 days, inform your doctor, as the combination of fusidic acid and pitavastatin may lead to serious muscle problems (rhabdomyolysis). If you are aged 65 years or older, or drink excessive amounts of alcohol, please inform your doctor. Avoid using Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet if you are pregnant. Also, you are advised to use effective birth control measures while taking Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet to avoid pregnancy. Please inform your doctor if you are a breastfeeding mother. If you have any concerns regarding the use of Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet for children, consult a doctor. If you have diabetes or are at risk of developing diabetes, your doctor will monitor you closely while on treatment with Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet . You are likely to be at risk of developing diabetes if you have high levels of sugars and fats in the blood, high blood pressure and are overweight.

  • Maintain a low-fat diet. Limit your intake of dairy products made with whole milk and red meat. Prefer skim milk and fat-free or low-fat dairy products.
  • Eat a healthy diet that includes fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry, whole grains, nuts, cut-down beverages, and processed and sugary foods.
  • Do regular exercises such as swimming, cycling, walking, or dancing and focus on losing weight. Obesity also raises bad cholesterol and lowers good cholesterol.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

However, if you experience unexplained muscle pain, weakness or tenderness, especially along with fever, dark-coloured urine or unusual tiredness, please consult your doctor immediately.

You are not recommended to stop taking Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the condition and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Therefore, take Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, and if you experience any difficulty while taking Zupita-EZ 2/10 Tablet , please consult your doctor so that the dose may be gradually reduced.
