Namaste I am Dr Aswathi and today I am here to share some simple Ayurvedic solutions for common childhood disorders. Let's start with respiratory issues which are very common nowadays like colds, coughs, and fevers. Since children are in a phase called  Kapha Kala they tend to accumulate a lot of mucus and congestion. We can give them at home some Ginger juice along with honey to soothe their throat. Water boiled with some Tulsi, pepper, turmeric along with jaggery given in lukewarm temperature can help to clear the congestion. Application of Karpooradi Thaila, the camphor oil and giving steam can help to open the nasal passage and in breathing difficulty. Avoiding sweets and cold foods can help in preventing these frequent infections in children. Now let us talk about digestive issues like stomach pain, constipation, diarrhoea etc. Many children nowadays offer from these weak digestion issues due to irregular eating habits and processed foods. Simple Ayurvedic practices are effective like ajwain and jeera water after meals to improve their digestion or applying a pinch of Hing on the belly. This will help in relieving gas and bloating and helps in stomach pain. Application of a few drops of castor oil on the naval area can help in clearing the constipation but Ayurveda recommends periodic deworming and cleansing the stomach by purging to help the gut healthy in kids. Another common concern is skin issues like dryness, rashes, Eczema etc Ayurveda believes that skin health is directly linked to digestion and internal balance. For this daily application of medicated oils like Eladi kera thaila and bathing with certain Herbs like Neem, turmeric, triphala etc according to the skin type and issues are recommended. Lastly I want to address some serious developmental disorders like Autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Muscular dystrophy which are also very common nowadays. Ayurveda provide supportive therapies like specialised Panchakarma treatment for children that helps to enhance the neurological health and overall development in children. Anyways prevention is better than cure. So balanced food, good sleep and a good daily routine are the key natural remedies to keep our children healthy and safe. Namaste, stay healthy.
