Hello new moms,

Welcome to motherhood.

Your bundle of joy has finally arrived, being able to finally hold your baby in your hands is the most beautiful feeling in the world, isn’t it?

It is an exciting time for you and your family. But amid all this joy, it’s easy for your own recovery to take a back seat.

But don’t worry, we are here to help you in your recovery journey.

First healing. Whether you’ve had a C-section or vaginal birth, give yourself time. C-section recovery takes around 6-8 weeks, with stitches healing in about 12 weeks. Vaginal delivery might be quicker, but if you’ve had stitches, it could take 1-2 weeks.

Expect your periods to return as soon as 4-6 weeks after birth. For breastfeeding mums, it might take a bit longer.

Don’t try anything exhausting; gentle exercises like walking and pelvic floor exercises can support your healing.

Your nutrition will play a bigger role in your recovery, so go ahead load up on lean proteins, whole grains, and iron-rich foods to stay energised.

Please remember, your postpartum belly will take time to recover, so be kind to yourself.

If you experience any postpartum complications like excessive bleeding or infections, immediately consult your doctor.

For any questions or doubts, Apollo doctors and our supportive community are always here for you.

Remember, mums– you’ve got this, and we’re here for you every step of the way.
