About Afcorbate-XT Tablet

Afcorbate-XT Tablet is used to treat iron deficiency and its associated anaemia. Iron deficiency anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells due to low iron levels.

Afcorbate-XT Tablet contains Ferrous Ascorbate, Folic acid, and Zinc. Ferrous Ascorbate is an essential mineral that aids in producing red blood cells and transporting oxygen to body tissues. Folic acid helps form red blood cells and prevents and treats folate deficiency (low blood levels of folate). Zinc is a mineral that promotes the growth and development of body tissues.

Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. In some cases, Afcorbate-XT Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, and stomach upset. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

The detailed uses of Afcorbate-XT Tablet are as follows:<br/>• Treatment and prevention of anemia: Afcorbate-XT Tablet is used in the treatment of treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia.<br/>• Support during pregnancy and lactation: Afcorbate-XT Tablet is used to support during pregnancy and lactation to aid fetal development and prevent neural tube defects.<br/>• Boosting red blood cell production: Afcorbate-XT Tablet is used in boosting red blood cell production and improving oxygen transport.<br/>• Enhancing immune function: Afcorbate-XT Tablet is used in enhancing immune function and wound healing.<br/>

Directions for Use

What if I have taken an overdose of Afcorbate-XT Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Afcorbate-XT Tablet may include stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you might have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

How does the drug interact with Afcorbate-XT Tablet:
Coadministration of Afcorbate-XT Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Afcorbate-XT Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
How does the drug interact with Afcorbate-XT Tablet:
Trimethoprim may decrease the blood levels and effects of Afcorbate-XT Tablet.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Afcorbate-XT Tablet and Trimethoprim, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting your doctor.
How does the drug interact with Afcorbate-XT Tablet:
Sulfadiazine may decrease the blood levels and effects of Afcorbate-XT Tablet.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Afcorbate-XT Tablet and Sulfadiazine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor.
How does the drug interact with Afcorbate-XT Tablet:
Co-administration of Afcorbate-XT Tablet with Capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, infections, and nerve damage.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Afcorbate-XT Tablet and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. Coadministration of Afcorbate-XT Tablet and Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of Afcorbate-XT Tablet.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Cholestyramine and Afcorbate-XT Tablet together can result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, if you experience Constipation, Diarrhea, Stomach pain, Nausea, or Loss of appetite, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting a doctor.
How does the drug interact with Afcorbate-XT Tablet:
Coadministration of dolutegravir with Afcorbate-XT Tablet can reduce the efficacy of dolutegravir.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Dolutegravir and Afcorbate-XT Tablet together can possibly result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by your doctor. It is advised to take dolutegravir either two hours before or six hours after taking a dose of Afcorbate-XT Tablet. Do not discontinue using any medications without consulting a doctor.

Afcorbate-XT Tablet is a nutritional supplement that consists of Ferrous Ascorbate, Folic acid, and Zinc. It works by restoring iron levels and boosting the body&#039;s production of red blood cells (RBC), thus treating iron deficiency anaemia.

It is recommended not to take Afcorbate-XT Tablet along with tea, coffee, milk, and eggs since they might interfere with iron absorption from Afcorbate-XT Tablet .

Afcorbate-XT Tablet is best absorbed if taken on an empty stomach. But in some patients, Afcorbate-XT Tablet may cause gastrointestinal disturbances like stomach upset or constipation when taken without food. So, please take it as suggested by your doctor if you have stomach problems.

Antacids may interfere with the absorption of iron. Hence, taking Afcorbate-XT Tablet two hours before or four hours after taking antacids is advised.

Zinc may decrease the absorption of antibiotics, thereby reducing their effectiveness. Maintaining at least an hour gap between Afcorbate-XT Tablet and other antibiotics is advised.
