Altafer-Xt Tab is a nutritional supplement used to treat iron deficiency and its associated anaemia.
Altafer-Xt Tab contains Ferrous Bisglycinate, Zinc Bisglycinate, Folic Acid, and Methylcobalamin. It works by restoring iron levels and boosting the body’s production of red blood cells and haemoglobin, thereby treating and preventing iron-deficiency anaemia.
It is advised not to take Altafer-Xt Tab with tea, coffee, milk, or eggs, as they may interfere with iron absorption from Altafer-Xt Tab .
Altafer-Xt Tab is best absorbed if taken on an empty stomach. However, in some patients, Altafer-Xt Tab may cause gastrointestinal disturbances, such as stomach upset or constipation, when taken on an empty stomach. Please take it as advised by your physician if you have stomach problems.
Antacids may interfere with the absorption of iron. Hence, taking Altafer-Xt Tab two hours before or four hours after taking antacids is advised.
