About Arcnac Gel

Arcnac Gel relieves pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis and low back pain. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments. Osteoarthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage. 

Arcnac Gel contains Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Linseed Oil, and Menthol. Diclofenac and methyl salicylate are painkillers that block the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Capsaicin is a natural chilli pepper extract that works by blocking the pain messengers of the nerves. Linseed oil possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which inhibit inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes (LK), thereby reducing inflammation. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Arcnac Gel helps relieve mild to moderate pain in various types of musculoskeletal and joint conditions. 

Arcnac Gel is for external use only. Apply a pea-sized amount onto your fingers to the affected areas. You are advised to use Arcnac Gel for as long as your doctor prescribes it, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as reaction to the application site, such as itching, irritation, redness, and burning sensation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Arcnac Gel may increase the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not use Arcnac Gel. Arcnac Gel increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Arcnac Gel is not recommended for children below 14 years as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight as Arcnac Gel may cause ultraviolet light-induced skin tumours. Do not take any other NSAIDs for pain relief along with Arcnac Gel unless prescribed.

Directions for Use

• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safe and effective use.• Apply a thin layer of Arcnac Gel and gently massage it into the skin until absorbed.• Arcnac Gel is only for external use. Avoid contact of the Arcnac Gel with the nose, mouth or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly.

Arcnac Gel is a combination of five drugs: Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Linseed Oil, and Menthol. Arcnac Gel is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis, and low back pain. Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make other chemical prostaglandins. By blocking the COX enzyme's effect, lesser prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Capsaicin exerts an analgesic effect by blocking the pain messengers of the nerves. Linseed oil helps in reducing inflammation. Menthol provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Arcnac Gel helps in providing relief from pain and inflammation.

What if I have taken an overdose of Arcnac Gel

Though overdose is unlikely due to low systemic absorption, it is advised to avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual symptoms.

Drug Warnings

Do not use Arcnac Gel if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have/had severe heart problems, stomach ulcer or perforation, and bleeding problems such as bleeding from the stomach, intestine or brain, bypass surgery, heart attack, blood circulation problems or inflammation of intestines. Do not use Arcnac Gel if you experience asthma, urticaria or allergy after taking a pain killer. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Arcnac Gel is not recommended for children below 14 years as the safety and effectiveness have not been established. Stop taking Arcnac Gel and consult your doctor immediately if you have stomach pain or any signs of bleeding in the intestine or stomach, such as blood in stools. Do not take any other painkillers for pain relief along with Arcnac Gel unless prescribed.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Exercising regularly helps in muscle stretching so that they are less likely to spasm, tear and sprain. Mild exercises such as jogging and walking are helpful for muscle stretching.
  • Massages can also be helpful.
  • Avoid freezing and hot temperatures.
  • Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes, instead, wear loose garments.
  • Rest well, get plenty of sleep.
  • To avoid developing pressure sores, change your position at least every two hours.
  • Hot or cold therapy can help treat muscle spasms. Apply an ice pack or hot pack on the muscle for 15-20minutes.
  • Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water.

Arcnac Gel is used to reduce and relieve pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage.

Avoid taking a bath or shower for at least 1hour after applying Arcnac Gel.

Avoid concomitant use of Arcnac Gel with other topical products such as cosmetics, sunscreens, lotions, moisturisers, insect repellent creams and other gels.

Do not apply external heat or cover the treated skin with dressings after applying Arcnac Gel. Avoid wearing clothes or gloves for at least 10 minutes after applying Arcnac Gel.

Do not apply Arcnac Gel on wounds, skin injuries, irritated skin, skin abrasions and infections.

Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight as Arcnac Gel may cause ultraviolet light-induced skin tumours.
