About Betadine Gargle

Betadine Gargle is an antiseptic and disinfectant used to treat sore throat. It also treats and prevents infections of the mouth and throat lining, such as gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and mouth ulcers. Betadine Gargle is also used to cleanse the mouth for preparation of the oral mucosa before any injection, dental surgery or tooth extraction. 

Betadine Gargle contains Povidone iodine. It works by releasing iodine, which effectively destroys bacteria, viruses, and fungi on contact. It helps reduce the number of harmful microbes and inflammation in conditions such as sore throats, mouth ulcers, and infections of the mouth and throat lining. Let your doctor know if you have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) or any other thyroid diseases (nodular colloid goitre, endemic goitre or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis), liver, or kidney problems. Betadine Gargle should be used in children under twelve years of age only when the doctor has advised it.
