About Cartivel Tablet

Cartivel Tablet is used to treat arthralgia (joint pain). Cartivel Tablet is also indicated for maintaining joints, muscles, cartilage, the integrity of joints, bone health, joint pain, arthritic pain, stiffness, low back pain, tendonitis or tendinopathy (tendon pain). Joint pain refers to the joints' discomfort, pain, stiffness, and soreness.

Cartivel Tablet is a combination of five drugs: Chondroitin Sulfate, Collagen Hydrolysed, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamin C and Rosehip Extract. Chondroitin Sulfate prevents the breakdown of collagen. Collagen Hydrolysed helps in the regeneration of cartilage, thereby providing strength to the bones and improving the flexibility of joints. Sodium hyaluronate is similar to the fluid surrounding the joints; this acts as a lubricant and prevents friction between the joints. Vitamin C helps synthesise new collagen fibres and new blood vessel formation and promotes healing. Rosehip Extract helps prevent joint damage and eases joint inflammation. Together, Cartivel Tablet helps provide relief from pain and stiffness in the joints. 

Take Cartivel Tablet with or without food. Swallow Cartivel Tablet as a whole; do not crush or chew the tablet. Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects, such as heartburn, stomach pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor before taking Cartivel Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Limited information is available regarding the usage of Cartivel Tablet in children, so please consult a doctor if you have any concerns. What if I have taken an overdose of Cartivel Tablet

Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it might cause an overdose. Seek medical attention if you experience any unusual symptoms.

Drug Warnings

Do not take Cartivel Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking Cartivel Tablet if you have or had impaired kidney or liver function, high blood pressure, heart problems, asthma, or diabetes. Consult your doctor before taking Cartivel Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not take any other medicines for pain relief along with Cartivel Tablet unless recommended by the doctor. 

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Physical activity helps in strengthening muscles and relieves joint stiffness. Gentle activities like 20-30minutes of walking or swimming would be helpful.

  • Performing yoga may also help in improving joint flexibility and pain management.

  • Maintain a healthy weight by performing regular low-strain exercises and eating healthy food.

  • Get adequate sleep as resting the muscles can help in reducing inflammation and swelling.

  • Follow heat or cold therapy, apply a cold or hot compress on the joints for 15-20minutes regularly.

  • De-stress yourself by meditating, reading books, taking a warm bubble bath or listening to soothing music.

  • Acupuncture, massage and physical therapy may also be helpful.

  • Eat food rich in antioxidants such as berries, spinach, kidney beans, dark chocolate, etc.

  • Foods containing flavonoids help in reducing inflammation. These include soy, berries, broccoli, grapes and green tea.

Pain killers relieve pain by blocking the pain signals but do not correct the basic problem, such as degeneration of the joints. Cartivel Tablet contains collagen, which is the main building protein in bone, cartilage, and other connective tissues. Sodium hyaluronate and chondroitin help in reducing inflammation. Vitamin C has an antioxidant property that is required by the body to make collagen. Together, Cartivel Tablet helps in healing the joints.

Cartivel Tablet may be used to reduce and relieve pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Arthritis is the tenderness and swelling in the joints.

Cartivel Tablet is used to treat tendon pain in tendonitis and tendinopathy. Tendonitis or tendinopathy occurs due to repetitive mechanical load on the tendons leading to degeneration and inflammation of tendons, often due to athletic activities.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Cartivel Tablet . Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration and eat non-spicy meals if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience severe diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.

Overdose of Cartivel Tablet can lead to adverse effects. Therefore, do not exceed the recommended dose. However, if you suspect you have taken overdose, please consult your doctor immediately.
