About DFO Gel 50 gm
DFO Gel 50 gm is a topical analgesic (pain killer) primarily used to relieve acute musculoskeletal pain and pain of osteoarthritis of joints. It reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness, thereby improving your ability to move and flex the joint.
DFO Gel 50 gm contains Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate (as a pain killer), Linseed oil (as an anti-inflammatory), and Menthol (as a cooling agent). DFO Gel 50 gm works by first cooling the skin and then warming it up, which interferes with the pain signal transmission through nerves. Together DFO Gel 50 gm works by blocking the release of chemical messengers that causes pain and inflammation with redness and swelling.
DFO Gel 50 gm should only be used if advised by your doctor. DFO Gel 50 gm should be used for skin only, and accidentally if it gets into your eye, mouth, or nose, rinse with water. DFO Gel 50 gm should be applied to the affected area with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. DFO Gel 50 gm should not be applied more than the recommended dose to avoid unpleasant side effects. Drug-Drug Interaction: DFO Gel 50 gm may interact with ACE inhibitors (captopril, lisinopril), angiotensin II receptor blockers (losartan, valsartan), cidofovir, corticosteroids (dexamethasone, prednisone), lithium, methotrexate, diuretics (furosemide). DFO Gel 50 gm may increase the risk of bleeding when used with other drugs that also may cause bleeding.
