Diclostat Ultra Gel belongs to a class of NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) primarily used to relieve joint pain due to arthritis. Arthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage. Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness (pain on touching) of one or more joints characterized by joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age.

Diclostat Ultra Gel contains Diclofenac sodium, Methyl salicylate and Menthol. Diclofenac sodium and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain, responsible for causing pain and symptoms of inflammation. Menthol works initially by cooling the skin, followed by warming it up. This action helps in improving blood circulation and provides relief from pain.

Diclostat Ultra Gel is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Like all medicines, Diclostat Ultra Gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. You might experience side effects such as burning or stinging sensation, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Diclostat Ultra Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not use Diclostat Ultra Gel if you are allergic to any of the contents. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using Diclostat Ultra Gel. Avoid contact of Diclostat Ultra Gel with eyes, nose, and mouth. If contact occurs, wash with water immediately. Do not use Diclostat Ultra Gel if you have had any recent heart surgery as Diclostat Ultra Gel can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. Diclostat Ultra Gel may increase the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. 

Diclostat Ultra Gel is used in the treatment of Pain and inflammation. The detailed uses of Diclostat Ultra Gel are as follows:

• Relieve joint and muscle pain: Diclostat Ultra Gel is primarily used to treat pain and inflammation associated with conditions like arthritis, sprains, strains, backache, and sports injuries. It helps reduce swelling, stiffness, and discomfort in affected areas.
• Suppress inflammation and improve mobility: Diclostat Ultra Gel contains Diclofenac Sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks pain-inducing chemical messengers, helping reduce redness and swelling.
• Provide cooling and soothing relief: Diclostat Ultra Gel includes Menthol and Methyl Salicylate, which act as counterirritants. They create a cooling sensation followed by warmth, distracting from pain and improving blood circulation.

• Diclostat Ultra Gel is usually applied 4 times a day. However, follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication for effective results.
• Apply Diclostat Ultra Gel to the affected area and rub gently until it gets absorbed.
• Wash your hands before and after using Diclostat Ultra Gel.
• Avoid wrapping, bandaging, or applying heat (heating pad) to the treated area.

If you have a severe allergy to painkillers or if you develop conditions like asthma, rhinitis, angioedema (swelling under the skin), or skin rashes, avoid using Diclostat Ultra Gel. Inform your doctor if you have stomach ulcers, gastric bleeding, severe heart failure, high blood pressure, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), sleeping disorder (sleep apnoea), liver or kidney disease. Consult your doctor before starting Diclostat Ultra Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
