About Fbcal Tablet

Fbcal Tablet is a nutritional supplement primarily used to treat low blood calcium levels. It effectively treats various conditions, such as vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis (characterised by weak bones), latent tetany (a muscle disease associated with low blood calcium levels), and rickets or osteomalacia (a condition characterised by softening of bones due to low calcium levels).

Fbcal Tablet contains Calcium and Vitamin D3. Fbcal Tablet works by increasing calcium and vitamin D levels in the body, thereby supporting the essential functions necessary for bone formation and maintenance. Together, they help prevent bone loss, support bone growth, and reduce muscle cramps caused by low calcium levels.

Fbcal Tablet is likely safe to consume. In some cases, it may cause common side effects like constipation, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weakness, tiredness, and headache. These side effects typically do not require medical attention and usually resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to a doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

How Fbcal Tablet Works

Cholecalciferol helps the body to absorb calcium and phosphorous.  Thereby, it increases calcium levels in the blood and helps to build and maintain strong bones.

What if I have taken an overdose of Fbcal Tablet

If you accidentally take more medicine than your doctor told you to, or if a child has taken some medicine by mistake, contact your doctor or go to your nearest emergency department immediately. An overdose could cause adverse events. Signs and symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, mental/mood changes, headache, drowsiness, weakness, tiredness. Consult the doctor even if there are no signs of discomfort.

Drug Warnings

  • Avoid taking Fbcal Tablet if you are allergic to it.
  • It may contain sugar or aspartame. Hence, caution should be taken in diabetes and phenylketonuria (increased levels of an amino acid called phenylalanine).
  • Inform your doctor if you have any history of hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in the body), kidney disease, liver disease, electrolyte imbalance, heart disease, kidney stones and hypervitaminosis D (having too much vitamin D) before taking Fbcal Tablet .
  • Higher doses of Vitamin D than the recommended daily dose should be used in pregnant women only when advised by the doctor.

  • Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, cheese, or milk-based custard in your diet.
  • Eat daily a serving of broccoli, cabbage, bok choy (Chinese white cabbage), spinach, and other green leafy vegetables.

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over your food, vegetables, and salads. Sesame seeds are high in calcium.
