What if I have taken an overdose of Ferobrim Plus Tablet

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Ferobrim Plus Tablet may include stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you might have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.

Coadministration of Ferobrim Plus Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Ferobrim Plus Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.

Ferobrim Plus Tablet is a nutritional supplement that consists of Zinc Sulphate, Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic acid. It works by restoring iron levels and boosting the body's production of red blood cells (RBC), thus treating iron deficiency anaemia.

It is recommended not to take Ferobrim Plus Tablet along with tea, coffee, milk, and eggs since they might interfere with iron absorption from Ferobrim Plus Tablet .

Ferobrim Plus Tablet is best absorbed if taken on an empty stomach. But in some patients, Ferobrim Plus Tablet may cause gastrointestinal disturbances like stomach upset or constipation when taken without food. So, please take it as suggested by your doctor if you have stomach problems.

Antacids may interfere with the absorption of iron. Hence, taking Ferobrim Plus Tablet two hours before or four hours after taking antacids is advised.

Zinc Sulphate may decrease the absorption of antibiotics, thereby reducing their effectiveness. Maintaining at least an hour gap between Ferobrim Plus Tablet and other antibiotics is advised.
