About Ferro Plus Tablet

Ferro Plus Tablet belongs to a class of medications called haematinics, primarily used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) and folic acid deficiency that occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food, or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen required by various body tissues.

Ferro Plus Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely: Ferrous fumarate (an iron supplement) and folic acid (a form of vitamin B9). Ferro Plus Tablet works by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs are produced in the body so that the body's tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.

Take Ferro Plus Tablet as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, stomach pain or a change in the colour of the stool. Most of these side effects of Ferro Plus Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

What if I have taken an overdose of Ferro Plus Tablet

What if you forget to take Ferro Plus Tablet

If you miss a dose of Ferro Plus Tablet , take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
