About Jusgo Gel

Jusgo Gel is used to relieve acute musculoskeletal pain and pain of osteoarthritis of joints. It reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness, thereby improving your ability to move and flex the joint.

Jusgo Gel contains diclofenac, methyl salicylate, linseed oil, and menthol. Jusgo Gel works by first cooling the skin and then warming it up, which interferes with the pain signal transmission through nerves.

Some common side effects of Jusgo Gel are burning, itching, redness, stinging, and dryness on your skin in the place where Jusgo Gel is applied. These side effects are usually mild and short-lived. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Jusgo Gel should be used for skin only, and if it accidentally gets into your eye, mouth, or nose, rinse with water. Jusgo Gel is contraindicated in children below two years of age. In addition, caution must be exercised when treating older children (2-12 years).

Directions for Use

  • Jusgo Gel is for topical (skin surface) use only.
  • It is typically applied 3-4 times daily, or as directed by your doctor.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water before applying Jusgo Gel. Apply a small amount of Jusgo Gel to the affected area with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab and gently rub it in.
  • Avoid taking a shower for at least 1 hour after application.
  • If Jusgo Gel accidentally comes in contact with your eyes, mouth, or nose, rinse with water thoroughly.
  • Do not apply it to open wounds, or use external heat or occlusive dressings on the treated joints.

What if I have taken an overdose of Jusgo Gel

Topical overdose with Jusgo Gel is unlikely because of its low systemic absorption. However, it may be harmful if swallowed. In case of accidental swallowing/overdose, symptoms include change in the amount of urine, severe stomach pain and slow/shallow breathing.

Drug Warnings

  • Before using Jusgo Gel, tell your doctor if you are allergic to Jusgo Gel other pain killers (like ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib) or if you have any other allergies.
  • Use of Jusgo Gel is contraindicated in the people who have asthma, liver disease, kidney disease, stomach/intestine problems (bleeding, ulcers, Crohn's disease), cardiovascular diseases (heart attack, high blood pressure, stroke), swelling (oedema, fluid retention), blood disorders (such as anaemia), bleeding/clotting problems.
  • Jusgo Gel should not be given to children less than 2 years of age.
  • The use of Jusgo Gel should be done with caution in the elderly as they have a high risk of kidney damage and gastrointestinal bleeding.
