Lacria 2% Eye Gel 5 gm is a sterile ophthalmic solution used to relieve dryness, irritation, and discomfort in the eyes. It acts as a soothing lubricant to ease burning or grittiness caused by environmental factors like wind, dust, heating, or prolonged screen use. It is also commonly used to moisten hard contact lenses and to lubricate the eyes during specific diagnostic eye examinations.
You can use Lacria 2% Eye Gel 5 gm as frequently as needed throughout the day, or exactly as recommended by your eye care professional, to maintain eye comfort. Because these are eye drops applied directly to the ocular surface, food intake does not affect how the medication works. Making simple changes, such as drinking more water and reducing your screen time, can also significantly improve your dry eye symptoms and support the effects of the drops.
While using Lacria 2% Eye Gel 5 gm, some people may experience mild, temporary blurred vision or a brief stinging sensation immediately after putting the drops in. These symptoms usually resolve quickly on their own. However, if you experience severe eye pain, changes in your vision, or persistent redness and irritation that does not improve, you should stop using the drops and consult your doctor immediately.
Before you begin using Lacria 2% Eye Gel 5 gm, talk to your doctor if you have an active eye infection, have recently had eye surgery, or have experienced a serious eye injury. Do not use this product if you have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the ingredients listed on the product packaging.
There are no known major interactions between Lacria 2% Eye Gel 5 gm and alcohol or smoking, though tobacco smoke can aggravate dry eye symptoms. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing the care of an elderly family member, talk to your doctor or pharmacist to ensure these drops are appropriate for your specific situation.
