LYCOSTAR TABLET belongs to the class of 'dietary supplements', primarily used to treat nutritional deficiencies. LYCOSTAR TABLET contains Selenium, Zinc and Lycopene. Selenium is used to treat selenium deficiency, a disease that causes underactive thyroid (autoimmune thyroiditis), and high blood pressure during pregnancy. Zinc is used to treat zinc deficiency, acute diarrhoea in children, slow wound healing, and Wilson's disease (a genetic disorder causing copper build-up in the body). Lycopene prevents the risk of breast, prostate cancers and cardiovascular diseases.
Selenium is a mineral found in soil, water, and foods like poultry, whole grains, Brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, and seafood. It protects the cells and lipids from free radical damage. Selenium is effectively used to prevent various heart and blood vessels diseases like stroke, complications from statin drugs, and abnormal cholesterol levels. Zinc is also a mineral that promotes growth and development of body tissues. It is essential for vision, fighting against rhinoviruses (that cause the common cold), immune function, bone metabolism, taste, wound healing, insulin production, blood clotting, and thyroid function. Zinc is commonly found in meats, seafood, dairy products, nuts, legumes, and whole grains. Zinc maintains the mucous lining of the stomach and promotes water and electrolyte absorption in the body. It increases the circulation of enzymes that are effective against infections like diarrhoea. Lycopene belongs to the class of carotenoids (plant pigments). It is an antioxidant that protects cells from damage by fighting against free radicals (unstable atoms that damage cells). Lycopene is used for high blood pressure and high cholesterol and prevents cancer and heart diseases. It is naturally found in tomatoes, watermelons, red oranges, pink grapefruits, apricots, rosehips, and guavas.

LYCOSTAR TABLET is a dietary supplement and consists of Selenium, Zinc, and Lycopene. When you lack these minerals in your body, which cannot be recovered even with the food sources, LYCOSTAR TABLET helps in normalising these deficient levels. Collectively, LYCOSTAR TABLET treats selenium and zinc deficiencies, high blood pressure during pregnancy, abnormal cholesterol levels, and prevents the risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
Selenium deficiency occurs when your body lacks adequate selenium levels. You can overcome this deficiency by including food sources rich in selenium like Brazil nuts, yellowfin tuna, rice, beans, whole-wheat bread, dairy products, ham, chicken, turkey, beef, eggs, and pork. You can also try sunflower seeds, baked beans, mushrooms, oatmeal, and spinach. If your selenium levels are still low, your doctor may prescribe its supplements.
Zinc deficiency is caused when you don't have enough zinc levels in your body. You can include natural zinc sources like meat, shellfish, legumes, hemp seeds, nuts, eggs, dairy products, whole grains, potatoes, kale, and dark chocolate in your diet for treating zinc deficiency. If you still have low levels of zinc, please consult your doctor for zinc supplements.
