Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule is used in the treatment of neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to damage to sensory nerves. Symptoms include spontaneous, untriggered pain, unpleasant feelings, shooting, burning or stabbing pain, and difficulty resting or sleeping.
Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule is a combination of alpha-lipoic acid, folic acid, methylcobalamin and pyridoxine. Methylcobalamin and pyridoxine help rejuvenate and protect damaged nerve cells. Alpha-lipoic acid provides a protective effect on the nerve tissues and the brain. Folic acid helps in providing essential nutrients to the nerves.
Sometimes, you may experience common side effects such as nausea, headache, vomiting and heartburn. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. Coadministration of Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule and Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule.

Sulfadiazine may decrease the blood levels and effects of Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule.

Although there is a possible interaction between Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule and Sulfadiazine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor.
Coadministration of Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.

Although there is a possible interaction between Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
Coadministration of Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule and Carbamazepine may reduce the blood levels of Mecoactiv Soft Gel Capsule.
