About Mumfer XT Tablet
Mumfer XT Tablet is primarily used to prevent and treat the low levels of folic acid, zinc, and iron in the blood during certain health conditions. Anaemia is a health condition that happens when the body has a lower amount of red blood cells or haemoglobin than normal haemoglobin (an iron-rich protein responsible for allowing red blood cells to carry more oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body).
Mumfer XT Tablet contains Iron, Zinc, and Folic acid. Iron is a necessary mineral in the body needed by red blood cells to carry oxygen to other body cells and tissues. Zinc is needed by the body's immune (defence) system to carry out its functions. Folic acid is a vitamin B that helps the body make more red blood cells and helps the red blood cells carry out more oxygenated blood to other tissues of the body.
The most common side effects of Mumfer XT Tablet are diarrhoea, constipation, and upset stomach. These undesirable effects are temporary and will disappear as the body adjusts to the medicine. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Coadministration of Mumfer XT Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Mumfer XT Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
Co-administration of Mumfer XT Tablet with Capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, infections, and nerve damage.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Mumfer XT Tablet and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. Coadministration of Mumfer XT Tablet and Carbamazepine may reduce the blood levels of Mumfer XT Tablet.

Although there is a possible interaction between Mumfer XT Tablet and Carbamazepine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if your condition changes or you experience loss of seizure control, contact your doctor.
Trimethoprim may decrease the blood levels and effects of Mumfer XT Tablet.
