About Myoflex Ointment

Myoflex Ointment is a combination medicine used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, arthritis, back pain, sore muscles, joint pain, sprain, rheumatoid arthritis and leg cramps. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments. Arthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage.

Myoflex Ointment contains Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Eucalyptus oil, Camphor and Menthol. Methyl salicylate works by blocking chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Capsaicin exerts an analgesic effect by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Eucalyptus oil helps in reducing inflammation. Camphor and Menthol provide a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. Together, Myoflex Ointment helps in providing relief from pain.

You are advised to use Myoflex Ointment for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as application site reactions like itching, irritation, redness and burning sensation. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Myoflex Ointment is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight or tanning beds, as it might cause a burning sensation. Directions for Use

Cream: Apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area as prescribed by your doctor.Spray: Check the label for directions before using the spray. Shake well before each use. Spray the contents from a 5cm distance on the affected area. Do not spray near the eyes or face.

Do not use Myoflex Ointment if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have/had severe heart problems, stomach ulcer or perforation, and bleeding problems such as bleeding from the stomach, intestine or brain, bypass surgery, heart attack, blood circulation problems or inflammation of intestines. Inform your doctor if you are taking any NSAID/painkillers orally. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.   • De-stress yourself by meditating, reading books, taking a warm bubble bath or listening to soothing music.
  • Acupuncture, massage and physical therapy may also be helpful.
