About Polisitol OD Tablet 10's
Polisitol OD Tablet 10's belongs to the group of vitamins and supplements used in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). A polycystic ovarian syndrome is an endocrine disorder common in women of reproductive age characterized by menstrual abnormalities.
Polisitol OD Tablet 10's contains Cholecalciferol, Folic Acid and Inositol nicotinate. Folic acid improves fertility and reduces the risk of anovulation (absence of ovulation process). Inositol nicotinate improves insulin sensitivity, restores the ovulation process and enhances egg quality. Cholecalciferol helps in ovarian follicular development and luteinization. Together, Polisitol OD Tablet 10's helps in treating PCOS.
Take Polisitol OD Tablet 10's as recommended. In some cases, Polisitol OD Tablet 10's may cause certain common side effects such as stomach pain, nausea and tiredness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

Polisitol OD Tablet 10's is used to treat the polycystic ovarian syndrome. It contains Cholecalciferol, Folic Acid and Inositol nicotinate. Cholecalciferol is an active form of Vitamin D. It helps in improving insulin resistance and exerts a protective effect on blood sugar, thereby easing the metabolic effects of PCOS. A Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to reduced fertility and cholecalciferol supplementation in Polisitol OD Tablet 10's helps counter the same. Folic acid is an essential ingredient in the production of healthy red blood cells and is very effective in regulating menstruation, which tends to be dysregulated in PCOS. Inositol nicotinate regulates the levels of male sex hormones in the female body and enhances insulin sensitivity. Drug Warnings
Inform the physician if you are allergic to Polisitol OD Tablet 10's or any of its components. Keep your doctor informed if you suffer from any kidney problems, diabetes, phenylketonuria, hypercalcaemia, pernicious anaemia or have been immobilised for some time and if you have any cancer and are on chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Inform the physician if you are a smoker or have had a history of smoking. Also inform if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or if you are breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interactions: Polisitol OD Tablet 10's may interact with antidiabetic drugs (glimepiride, glyburide, pioglitazone, insulin, chlorpropamide, tolbutamide), antiepileptic drugs (primidone, phenobarbital, phenytoin), anti-IBD medications (sulfasalazine), cholesterol-reducing agents (cholestyramine), supplements (zinc, calcium ), or any painkillers (aspirin).
Drug-Food Interactions: Polisitol OD Tablet 10's may interact with grapefruit juice.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Polisitol OD Tablet 10's should be used with caution in patients with a known hypersensitivity disorder, cancer, any tumour, hypocalcemia, hypoparathyroidism, rickets, osteomalacia, kidney disease, peptic ulcer disease, phenylketonuria, pernicious anaemia, malabsorption syndrome, oesophageal disorders like Barrett’s oesophagus and any disease-causing jaw pain.
