Chimaphila umbellata is a valuable homoeopathic medicine prepared from root, leaves, or fresh plant in flowerstage belonging from Ericaceæ family. It is known for its profound action on the urinary tract, male and female reproductive systems, kidneys, and liver. It is particularly suited for chronic conditions involving urinary disorders, prostatic issues, breast atrophy, and scrofulous affections. The medicine is characterized by sensations of smarting, burning, and fullness, often accompanied by mucous or bloody discharges. It is beneficial in addressing conditions related to weakened constitutions, dropsical states, and chronic infections.

  • Urinary and Kidney Inflammation. Chimaphila umbellata relieves acute prostatitis with dysuria, retention, and a sensation in the perineum as if sitting on a ball. Manages scanty, dark, fetid urine with thick, ropy, bloody mucus or copious sediment. Assists in cutting, scalding, or burning pain during urination, with frequent urging, vesical tenesmus, worse sitting, and better walking. Helps in albuminuria, haematuria, and renal dropsy, especially from chronic gonorrhoea. Addresses strangury, stricture, and urethritis with purulent or profuse mucous discharge. Supports constant kidney pain with a fluttering sensation in the renal region.
  • Gonorrhoea and Gleet. Relieves smarting and itching from bladder neck to urethral meatus. Assists in gonorrhoea, gleet, syphilis, and prostatorrhoea. Helps with testicular atrophy and a sensation as if one testicle is bruised. Manages perineal swelling sensation, as if sitting on a ball.
