Systaflam Spray is a combination medicine used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis, and low back pain. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure, or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles, and ligaments.
Systaflam Spray combines five medicines: Diclofenac, Mephenesin, Menthol, Turpentine oil and Methyl salicylate. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain, which are responsible for causing pain and symptoms of inflammation, redness, and swelling. Mephenesin is a muscle relaxant (that relaxes the muscle and treats muscle pain). It works on the brain and spinal cord centres to relieve muscle hardness or spasms and improve muscle pain and movement. Methyl salicylate and Menthol are topical analgesics (applied directly to alleviate pain). They work initially by cooling the skin, followed by warming it up. This action helps improve blood circulation and relieve pain. Turpentine Oil acts as a lubricant.
Like all medicines, Systaflam Spray may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. You might experience side effects such as a burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the application site. Most of these side effects of Systaflam Spray do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
Systaflam Spray is for external use only. Avoid getting Systaflam Spray in contact with your eyes, nose or mouth; in case of accidental contact, immediately rinse it with cold water. Do not apply it to wounded or damaged skin. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using Systaflam Spray.
Systaflam Spray is used in the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal and joint disorders. The detailed uses of Systaflam Spray are as follows:
Systaflam Spray combines five medicines: Diclofenac, Mephenesin, Menthol, Turpentine oil, and Methyl salicylate. Diclofenac works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for causing pain and signs of inflammation, such as redness and swelling. Mephenesin is a muscle relaxant (that relaxes the muscle and treats muscle pain). It works on the brain and spinal cord centres to relieve muscle hardness or spasms and improve the pain and movement of muscles. On the other hand, methyl salicylate and menthol work by causing the skin to feel cool and warm. This action helps improve blood circulation and thus provides relief from pain. Turpentine Oil is a lubricant. Together, Systaflam Spray helps relieve musculoskeletal pain.
