It helps eye specialists get a clear view of the back of your eye, making it easier to detect vision issues or eye diseases. This medicine is typically applied shortly before your scheduled eye examination.

Because this medicine is typically applied right before an eye exam, it is used on an as-needed basis rather than as a daily routine. Since it is applied directly to the eye, you can use it regardless of your food intake. To support your eyes during recovery, it is helpful to rest them in a dimly lit room and avoid staring at digital screens until the effects wear off.

While using Cyclopentolate, you may experience temporary mild side effects such as blurred vision, light sensitivity, or mild stinging. However, if you experience serious side effects like a rapid heart rate, confusion, or severe dizziness, you should consult your doctor or seek medical help immediately.

Do not take this if you have narrow-angle glaucoma, as it can dangerously increase pressure within the eye. Before receiving these drops, talk to your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, or seizures, as well as if the medicine is being used for children who are highly sensitive to its effects.

Inform your healthcare team about other medications you use, as certain antidepressants or glaucoma drops can interact with this medicine.
