Amlong-H Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It contains Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide, which relax and widen blood vessels. Also, it helps to remove extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Thus, it lowers high blood pressure and reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke. It may cause side effects such as glucose intolerance (low or high level of glucose), ankle swelling, sleepiness, headache, (sense of heat in the face, ears, neck, and trunk), flushing, tiredness, nausea, decreased potassium level in the blood, increased blood uric acid, and altered blood lipid level.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Amlong-H Tablet may have an interaction with medicines used to treat mood disorders such as (lithium), medicines used to treat heart disorders such as (digoxin), antidiabetic medicines such as (metformin), medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction such as (sildenafil), medicines used to lower cholesterol levels such as (simvastatin), ACE-inhibitor (such as enalapril, lisinopril, ramipril), and medicines used for immunosuppression such as (cyclosporine).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid foods with high fat or cholesterol. Avoid too much salt in your diet like pickles, extra salt on salad, etc. You are recommended not to consume alcohol along with Amlong-H Tablet to avoid unpleasant side effects.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Amlong-H Tablet should not be given to people with cardiogenic shock (when the heart fails to pump required blood to the body), heart valve problem (stenosis), low blood pressure (hypotension), liver disease, kidney disease, or heart failure, low serum potassium (hypokalemia), patients with nil urine output (anuria).

How does the drug interact with Amlong-H Tablet:
Using Amlong-H Tablet together with dantrolene may increase the risk of hyperkalemia (high blood potassium).

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Amlong-H Tablet with Dantrolene can cause an interaction, it can be taken if prescribed by a doctor. You should seek medical attention if you experience nausea, vomiting, weakness, confusion, tingling of the hands and feet, a weak pulse, or a slow or irregular heartbeat. Do not stop using any medications without talking to a doctor.
How does the drug interact with Amlong-H Tablet:
Taking Dofetilide and Amlong-H Tablet can increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm, which can be severe. The risk increases in patients with a history of heart illness or electrolyte imbalance.

How to manage the interaction:
Combining dofetilide and Amlong-H Tablet is not recommended as it can result in an interaction, but it can be taken if your doctor advises. However, contact your doctor immediately if you experience any symptoms like sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness, rapid heartbeat, or memory loss. Do not discontinue any medications without consulting a doctor.

However, consult the doctor if you develop a fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, itching, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, dark-colored urine, and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Using Amlong-H Tablet and rifabutin together may lower amlodipine blood levels, which makes the medicine less effective.

How does the drug interact with Amlong-H Tablet:
Coadministration of Amlong-H Tablet and Idelalisib may raise amlodipine levels in the blood, this may lead to serious side effects (irregular heart rhythm, fluid retention, swelling, heart failure, and abnormally low blood pressure).

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking amlodipine with idelalisib can result in an interaction, it can be taken if a doctor has advised it. However, if you experience dizziness or fainting, sudden, unexplained weight gain, swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet, chest discomfort, or trouble breathing while taking these drugs, consult the doctor. Use caution while getting up from sitting or sleeping, and avoid driving or using dangerous machinery. Do not stop using any medications without a doctor's advice.
