Mifegest Kit is used for the medical termination of the pregnancy before 63 days after the first day of the last menses period. It also works in the second trimester of pregnancy. It contains Mifepristone and Misoprostol, which blocks the effects of the progesterone hormone required in women to continue the pregnancy. Also, it increases the womb's (uterus) contraction and dilates the cervix, thereby expelling the pregnancy. In some cases, you may experience side effects such as nausea, uterine cramps, vomiting, diarrhoea, infection following abortion, dizziness, and uterine bleeding. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

You should take the Misoprostol tablets 24 to 48 hours after taking Mifepristone. For maximum effectiveness, do not swallow them immediately. Instead, place the four Misoprostol tablets (800 mcg total) either under your tongue (sublingual) or in your cheeks (buccal, two on each side) and let them dissolve for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, swallow any remaining fragments with water. Swallowing them directly is less effective and increases side effects. Since you are at 9 weeks, please consult your prescribing doctor or gynecologist immediately to confirm your exact regimen and ensure you have proper medical supervision.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Mifegest Kit interacts with corticosteroids (dexamethasone), antifungal (ketoconazole, itraconazole), antibiotics (erythromycin, rifampicin),  anti-epileptic (phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus), medicines to treat migraine (ergotamine). So, Mifegest Kit should not be taken along with these drugs.
