Minicycline Capsule is used to treat bacterial infections. It treats urinary tract infections, intestinal infections, respiratory infections, eye infections, sexually transmitted infections (like gonorrhoea and syphilis), gum infections, diseases (like periodontitis), and others. Besides this, it also treats acne-like lesions caused by rosacea. However, it does not treat facial redness caused by rosacea. It contains Doxycycline, which prevents the growth of bacteria. It may cause some common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

A burning sensation during urination with a small ulcer at the tip of the penis may be due to a urinary or sexually transmitted infection, such as Urethritis or Genital Herpes. Since Doxycycline helped reduce the burning, but the ulcer is still present, it is important to consult a doctor for proper examination and tests. The doctor may recommend specific antibiotics, antiviral medicines, or topical treatment depending on the cause. Avoid sexual activity until the condition is properly treated, and maintain good hygiene.

After taking Minicycline, I experienced swelling in my lips and rashes. How can I treat this reaction?

Swelling of the lips and rashes after taking Minocycline may be an allergic reaction, which can be serious. Stop the medicine immediately and contact your doctor or go to the nearest medical centre.
