மாத்திரை உயர் இரத்த அழுத்தத்திற்கு (Hypertension) சிகிச்சை அளிக்கப் பயன்படுகிறது. இரத்த நாளங்களின் சுவர்களில் இரத்தம் செலுத்தும் அழுத்தம் மிக அதிகமாக இருக்கும் ஒரு நிலையே உயர் இரத்த அழுத்தம் ஆகும். தலைவலி, தலைச்சுற்றல், மூக்கில் இரத்தக் கசிவு, பார்வையில் மாற்றங்கள், நெஞ்சு வலி, பலவீனம் மற்றும் மூச்சுத் திணறல் (Dyspnea) ஆகியவை இதன் அறிகுறிகளாகும்.

Telma-Beta 50 Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also be used to lower‚ the risk of heart attack and stroke in future.
Telma-Beta 50 Tablet contains telmisartan and metoprolol. Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor. Angiotensin II constricts the blood vessels, so by blocking its effect, telmisartan allows the blood vessels to relax and widen. Metoprolol helps to reduce blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Together, Telma-Beta 50 Tablet helps in reducing the blood pressure to normal.
Telma-Beta 50 Tablet may cause a slow heart rate (bradycardia). A minor fluctuation should not be a worry, however, if slow heart rate continues and you begin to feel unwell, speak with your doctor.
Telma-Beta 50 Tablet may alter potassium levels. Therefore, inform your doctor if you are taking food rich in potassium such as potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements.
Please do not stop taking Telma-Beta 50 Tablet without consulting your doctor on your own as it may lead to rise in blood pressure. Continue taking Telma-Beta 50 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Telma-Beta 50 Tablet .
Orthostatic hypotension could be a side-effect of Telma-Beta 50 Tablet . Orthostatic hypotension is a sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing. If you experience this, do not try to stand up suddenly or start walking, instead lie down and get up slowly only when you feel better. People taking Telma-Beta 50 Tablet are advised to regularly monitor their blood pressure levels to avoid unpleasant events.
You are advised to stop smoking and alcohol consumption. Consume low salt and low-fat diet and maintain a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Regular exercise is recommended while taking Telma-Beta 50 Tablet as it helps to lower blood pressure and improves blood flow.
Store Telma-Beta 50 Tablet at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
No, Telma-Beta 50 Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding as it may harm the foetus or feeding baby.
If you miss a dose of Telma-Beta 50 Tablet , do not worry. Take it as soon as you remember. But, if it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
