About Acicaine Syrup
Acicaine Syrup belongs to a group of medicines called antacids, used to treat acidity, heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), and stomach upset. Due to excess acid production, the mucous layer in the stomach gets eroded, which leads to complications like acidity and heartburn.
Acicaine Syrup contains Aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and oxetacaine. Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide work by neutralising excess stomach acid. Oxetacaine exerts a numbing effect, thereby providing relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach.
You may experience side effects such as constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness, and drowsiness in some cases. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve over time. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take Acicaine Syrup if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Acicaine Syrup should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to prevent any interactions.
