CITRAPHOS 210MG TABLET 1 is used to treat iron deficiency and anaemia (deficiency of red blood cells and haemoglobin). It contains 'Ferric Citrate,' an essential body mineral required by the red blood cells to carry oxygen to other body cells and tissues. Combined with a protein in the blood called haemoglobin, iron helps carry adequate oxygen to various body parts. Iron is a major nutritional supplement during pregnancy to reduce the risk of iron deficiency and anaemia. It also has immunity-enhancing, anti-carcinogenic (preventing cancer), and cognition-enhancing properties.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: CITRAPHOS 210MG TABLET 1 may interact with rheumatoid arthritis drugs (penicillamine), cholesterol-lowering drugs (cholestyramine), drugs used to treat Parkinson's disease (levodopa, entacapone), thyroid disease medicines (levothyroxine), antibiotics (chloramphenicol, tetracycline), blood pressure-lowering drugs (methyldopa), and antacids.

Drug-Food Interaction: CITRAPHOS 210MG TABLET 1 should not be taken with alcohol, dairy products, and eggs as it might affect iron absorption in the body.

Drug-Disease Interaction: CITRAPHOS 210MG TABLET 1 should be used with caution in heart, liver or kidney diseases, iron overload disorders like hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, and intestinal problems (ulcer, colitis).

How does the drug interact with Citraphos 210mg Tablet 10's:
Taking dolutegravir with Citraphos 210mg Tablet 10's can reduce the effectiveness of dolutegravir.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Dolutegravir and Citraphos 210mg Tablet 10's together can possibly result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by your doctor. It is advised to take dolutegravir either two hours before or six hours after taking a dose of Citraphos 210mg Tablet 10's. Do not discontinue using any medications without consulting a doctor.
