Side effects of Dicalis Tablet
Here are the steps to cope with constipation as a side effect of medication:
  • Inform your doctor about your constipation symptoms. They may adjust your medication or advise alternative treatments.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking sufficient of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day) to help soften stool and promote bowel movements.
  • Increase fibre intake by eating foods high in fibre, such as fruits, whole grains, vegetables and legumes, to help bulk up the stool.
  • Establish a bowel routine by trying to go to the bathroom at the same time each day to train your bowels.
  • Engaging in regular exercise, like walking or yoga, can support in bowel movement stimulation.
  • Consult your doctor if constipation persists, and discuss alternative treatments or adjustments to your medication.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Dicalis Tablet may interact with anticonvulsants (phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin), antibiotics (trimethoprim), nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (aspirin), antidepressants (duloxetine), thyroid medicine (levothyroxine), water pill (hydrochlorothiazide), high cholesterol-lowering medicine (cholestyramine), iron supplement (ferrous sulphate), anti-inflammatory drug (sulfasalazine), anticancer drug (fluorouracil).

Drug-Food Interaction: Inform your doctor if you are taking zinc supplements or medicines containing zinc.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have cancer, pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12), high calcium or vitamin D levels, electrolyte imbalance, kidney or heart disease, a tumour or if you are receiving a stent in the heart or undergoing hemodialysis due to kidney failure, inform your doctor before taking Dicalis Tablet .
