Thrombophob Gel is used in the treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis (inflammation of a vein near the surface of the skin). It contains Heparin and Benzyl nicotinate, which dissolve the blood clots and also prevent the formation of new blood clots. It can increase the blood flow to the affected area, thereby reducing the pain and inflammation. It may cause common side effects such as skin irritation, redness, burning sensation, and itching. Before starting this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

The clot is likely a small bruise (haematoma) or a minor superficial blood clot, which is common after a needle puncture. It is usually harmless and often resolves on its own. Apply a warm compress instead of ice and gently massage the area to improve circulation. You can also use a topical heparin gel, such as Thrombophob Gel, to reduce swelling and help prevent clots. If the area becomes very painful, red, swollen, or warm, consult a doctor immediately.
