Patients may explore substitutes in the following scenarios:
Before you switch from Ergogem 0.125mg Tablet to another medicine, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Most substitutes contain the same active ingredient - METHYLERGOMETRINE-0.125MG, but the fillers, coating, or manufacturing quality may vary slightly.
Even if the salt is the same, your doctor can confirm if the substitute is right for your condition, dosage, and health history.
Some people may react differently to certain brands due to inactive ingredients. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor immediately.
A lower-priced substitute doesn't mean it's less effective. Many generic medicines work just as well as branded ones.
Always match the substitute’s strength (e.g., 5mg, 10mg) and form (tablet, capsule, syrup) with what your doctor prescribed.
Ergogem 0.125mg Tablet is used in the treatment of Postpartum haemorrhage. The detailed uses of Ergogem 0.125mg Tablet are as follows:
Ergogem 0.125mg Tablet is indicated in the prevention and control of postpartum haemorrhage. It is used following delivery of the placenta for the routine management of uterine atony (soft and weak uterus after childbirth), subinvolution of the uterus, and haemorrhage. Ergogem 0.125mg Tablet contains Methylergometrine, a semi-synthetic ergot alkaloid which works by increasing the smooth muscle contractions of the uterus. This helps compress the blood vessels and controls bleeding after delivery.
