AD-30 DT Tablet used in the treatment of diarrhoea. The detailed uses of AD-30 DT Tablet are as follows:

• Diarrhoea: AD-30 DT Tablet is commonly prescribed to treat acute diarrhoea, by providing symptomatic relief.
• Rehydration: AD-30 DT Tablet helps in rehydration by reducing the frequency and amount of stool output, thereby minimising the loss of water and essential salts (electrolytes) from the body. This helps maintain fluid balance and supports the body's natural hydration processes.
• Reduction of Gastrointestinal Secretions: AD-30 DT Tablet works by decreasing water and electrolyte secretion in the intestines, aiding in controlling diarrhoea.

AD-30 DT Tablet belongs to a group of medications called 'antidiarrheal' used to treat symptoms of acute (short-term) diarrhoea in infants and children over 3 months of age. AD-30 DT Tablet contains 'Racecadotril', a prodrug (inactive form) that gets converted into 'thiorphan' (active form), which reduces the watery secretions produced by the intestine. It helps in decreasing the loss of fluid from the body, thus reducing the symptoms of diarrhoea and the risk of dehydration.

• AD-30 DT Tablet can be administered with or without food as advised by the doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safety.
• It should be given as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew, crush or break it.

• Stay hydrated: Encourage your child to drink Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) frequently to replace lost fluids and essential minerals.
• Continue regular feeding: Continue your child's regular diet, including breast milk or formula for infants, along with small, frequent meals of easily digestible foods such as rice, bananas, and applesauce.
• Avoid sugary drinks: Do not give very sweet drinks, fruit juices, or fizzy drinks, as these can make diarrhoea worse.
• Ensure adequate rest: Make sure your child gets plenty of rest to support recovery.
• Maintain good hygiene: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after every nappy change or bathroom visit to help prevent the spread of infection.

• Check the tablets before use: Do not use the medicine if the tablets are damaged, cracked, or past their expiry date.
• Do not use for longer than recommended: Do not give AD-30 DT Tablet for more than 7 consecutive days unless advised by your doctor.
• Watch for signs of dehydration: Seek medical advice immediately if your child develops a dry mouth, cries without tears, has dark urine, or becomes unusually sleepy.
• Contact your doctor if symptoms persist: If your child's diarrhoea does not improve within 48 hours or they develop a high fever, consult your doctor promptly.
• Do not share the medicine: Never give AD-30 DT Tablet to another child, even if they have similar symptoms.
