About Avefer Tablet
Avefer Tablet is primarily used to prevent and treat the low levels of folic acid, zinc, and iron in the blood during certain health conditions. Anaemia is a health condition that happens when the body has a lower amount of red blood cells or haemoglobin than normal haemoglobin (an iron-rich protein responsible for allowing red blood cells to carry more oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body).
Avefer Tablet contains Iron, Zinc, and Folic acid. Iron is a necessary mineral in the body needed by red blood cells to carry oxygen to other body cells and tissues. Zinc is needed by the body's immune (defence) system to carry out its functions. Folic acid is a vitamin B that helps the body make more red blood cells and helps the red blood cells carry out more oxygenated blood to other tissues of the body.
The most common side effects of Avefer Tablet are diarrhoea, constipation, and upset stomach. These undesirable effects are temporary and will disappear as the body adjusts to the medicine. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
If you have or ever had stomach/intestinal problems (e.g., ulcers, colitis), use/abuse of alcohol, or vitamin B12 deficiency (pernicious anaemia), please inform your doctor before taking Avefer Tablet to avoid any complications. Also, mention all the other medications you are taking to affect the way Avefer Tablet works. During pregnancy, Avefer Tablet should only be used if advised by the doctor.

Avefer Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called nutritional supplements used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiencies such as iron deficiency anaemia.
Avefer Tablet contains Ferrous fumarate, Folic acid, and Zinc sulphate. Ferrous fumarate acts as a source of iron which helps in the transportation of oxygen throughout the body and the production of red blood cells. Folic acid is necessary for various bodily functions, such as nucleotide biosynthesis and remethylation of homocysteine. Zinc sulphate helps in the growth and development of body tissues.
Iron supplements cause the stools/poop to turn black or greyish. Do not worry, as it is a common side-effect that occurs due to the loss of unabsorbed iron. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding this.
Avefer Tablet may cause constipation. Eat fibre-rich food and drink plenty of fluids if you experience constipation. Consult your doctor if you have severe constipation.
To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Avefer Tablet for as long as your doctor has advised it. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Avefer Tablet .
Avefer Tablet can be taken with antacids if advised by the doctor. However, maintain a gap of 2-4 hours between Avefer Tablet and antacid medicines, as taking them together might decrease their effectiveness.
Avoid consuming milk, milk products, tea, coffee, fish, meat, liver, whole grains, and cereals along with Avefer Tablet , as they might interfere with the absorption of Avefer Tablet . Maintain a minimum gap of 2 hours between Avefer Tablet and milk/milk products, tea, coffee, fish, meat, liver, whole grains, and cereals.
Livogen and Avefer Tablet are iron supplements but differ in composition. Livogen typically contains Ferrous Fumarate and Folic Acid, whereas Avefer Tablet adds Zinc Sulfate, providing potential benefits like immune system support and wound healing.
Iron supplements like Avefer Tablet are best taken on an empty stomach to maximize absorption. This usually means taking them in the morning, at least 30 minutes before a meal, or two hours after a meal2. However, some people may experience stomach upset when taking iron on an empty stomach. If this happens, you can take it with a small meal or snack. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding the timing and dosage of your supplements.
Yes, Avefer Tablet is generally considered safe for pregnant women. It contains iron, folic acid, and zinc, which are essential nutrients during pregnancy. These components help prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia and support overall health for the mother and the developing baby. However, it is essential to consult your doctor before starting any new supplement during pregnancy to ensure it is appropriate for your needs.
The common side effects of Avefer Tablet may include stomach upset, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. These side effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own, but if they persist, it's best to consult your doctor.
Avefer Tablet is a multi-nutrient supplement combining three essential nutrients to address nutritional deficiencies. Ferrous Fumarate provides iron for oxygen transport and red blood cell production, Folic Acid supports healthy red blood cell production, and Zinc Sulfate promotes growth, development, and immune function, together supporting overall health and well-being.
It's essential to inform your doctor about your medical conditions and medications before taking Avefer Tablet . Certain health conditions and medications may interact with Avefer Tablet , so discussing your medical history with your doctor will help ensure safe and effective treatment.
