Aztofa Ointment 15 gm belongs to a class of medicines called Janus kinase inhibitors, primarily used to treat alopecia areata (hair loss). Alopecia is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any hair-bearing site on the body. Aztofa Ointment 15 gm stimulates hair growth and slows down the process of balding. Aztofa Ointment 15 gm is also used in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.

Aztofa Ointment 15 gm contains Tofacitinib, which helps prevent hair cell death and promotes new hair growth. 

Aztofa Ointment 15 gm may cause certain side effects, such as excessive hair growth, headache, skin irritation, itching, and rashes. Aztofa Ointment 15 gm contains Tofacitinib, which prevents hair cell death and promotes new hair growth. It promotes blood flow to the hair follicles, providing sufficient nutrition and oxygen to the hair cells. Supplying oxygen and nutrients to the hair cell prevents its death and stimulates hair growth.

Avoid smoking or going near naked flames when you have applied the Aztofa Ointment 15 gm since it can catch fire and burn easily. Avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. In case of accidental contact, wash thoroughly with water and inform your doctor. Do not apply the medicine on shaved, inflamed, infected, irritated or painful scalp skin. Aztofa Ointment 15 gm is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age.

• It is advised to maintain a healthy diet with well-balanced meals.

• Avoid overusing styling tools like blow dryers, curling rods, and chemical dye, which can cause loss of natural hair oils and cause hair fall.

• Regular oiling helps in the blood circulation of the scalp and nourishes the roots.

• Washing your hair twice a week with a good shampoo and conditioner can also improve your hair fall.

• Practise yoga and meditation to control your stress, which is the greatest enemy of hair fall.

• Get regular medical examinations to check your hormonal profile and nutritional deficiencies that cause hair fall. 

• Monitoring your hormonal and vitamin D profiles, which can affect your hair loss, is advised.

• Avoid contact of Aztofa Ointment 15 gm with nose, mouth, eyes or broken, irritated skin as it may irritate. If Aztofa Ointment 15 gm accidentally comes into contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly.

Alopecia or Hair loss: It is an autoimmune disorder that causes the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any other part of the body. The main symptom is patchy hair loss. Coin-sized patchy hair loss is prominently seen on the scalp. However, a person with alopecia may also lose hair in other body parts, including eyelashes, eyebrows, facial hair, and body hair. Alopecia can be due to heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of ageing. It is more common in men.
