Benefen-10 Tablet 10's is used to reduce and relieve muscle spasms (muscles with too tight or stiff). It contains Baclofen, which works on the spinal cord and brain, thereby helping in maintaining muscle strength and relieving muscle spasms or stiffness. About Benefen-10 Tablet 10's

Benefen-10 Tablet 10's is used to reduce and relieve muscle spasms (muscles with too tight or stiff) occurring due to multiple sclerosis (a disease that affects the brain and spinal cord), stroke, cerebral palsy (a disorder that affects movement and posture), spinal cord problems, and other nerve-related disorders. A muscle spasm is a sudden and uncontrollable tightening of a muscle, which can be painful and uncomfortable.

Benefen-10 Tablet 10's contains Baclofen, which works on the brain and spinal cord to help relax tight or stiff muscles.

In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as feeling sleepy, nausea, headache, weakness, or a dry mouth. These side effects usually go away on their own over time. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects continuously.

Do not stop taking Benefen-10 Tablet 10's suddenly, as it may cause serious side effects like muscle stiffness (rigidity), fast heartbeat, mood changes, mental disorders, fever, confusion, hallucinations, or fits (seizures). Talk to your doctor before using Benefen-10 Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Use Benefen-10 Tablet 10's with caution in children under 16 years, as there is limited information about its safety in this age group.

What if I have taken an overdose of Benefen-10 Tablet 10's

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Benefen-10 Tablet 10's as it may cause serious adverse effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, seizures (fits), excess sleepiness, shallow breathing, trouble focusing on objects, loss of consciousness, or muscle weakness. If you suspect you have taken an overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Exercising regularly helps in muscle stretching so that they are less likely to spasm, tear, or sprain. Mild exercises such as jogging and walking are helpful for muscle stretching.
  • Massages can also be helpful.
  • Avoid extremely cold and hot temperatures.
  • Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes; instead, wear loose garments.
  • Rest well, get plenty of sleep.
  • To avoid developing pressure sores, change your position at least every two hours.
  • Hot or cold therapy can be helpful in treating muscle spasms. Apply an ice pack or hot pack on the muscle for 15-20minutes.
  • Stay hydrated; drink plenty of water.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Benefen-10 Tablet 10's. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might help in stimulating saliva and thereby prevent drying of the mouth.

Do not discontinue Benefen-10 Tablet 10's without consulting your doctor. Discontinuing Benefen-10 Tablet 10's suddenly might cause muscle rigidity, increased heart rate, changes in mood, fever, mental disorders, confusion, hallucinations, and fits (seizures). Talk to your doctor if you feel any difficulty while taking Benefen-10 Tablet 10's; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually.

Do not use Benefen-10 Tablet 10's at a time when muscle tone is required for safe balance and movement during certain activities. In some conditions, it may be dangerous for you to have low or reduced muscle tone. Please do not drink alcohol with Benefen-10 Tablet 10's as it can cause side effects. Avoid driving or performing hazardous tasks until you know how Benefen-10 Tablet 10's will affect you.

Benefen-10 Tablet 10's may reduce anxiety but not depression levels. However, it is not intended for treating anxiety.

However, if Benefen-10 Tablet 10's makes you sick (vomit) or causes severe diarrhoea for more than 24 hours, your contraceptive tablets may not be effective in preventing pregnancy. Alcohol can increase the drowsy (sedative) effects of Benefen-10 Tablet 10's pills, making you extremely tired. It is advisable to avoid drinking alcohol when taking Benefen-10 Tablet 10's until you know how the medication affects you.
