About Cadomer Ointment

Cadomer Ointment belongs to the class of topical antibiotics. It is used to treat chronic exuding wounds such as leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and pressure ulcers, as well as infected traumatic and surgical wounds.

Cadomer Ointment contains Cadexomer iodine. It has a dual action: cleansing of the wound and bactericidal activity. Cadexomer iodine decreases bacterial count, promotes de-sloughing, absorbs exudates, and keeps the skin moist to aid in the healing of chronic skin ulcers.

Use as directed by the healthcare professional. Sometimes, Cadomer Ointment may cause application site reactions such as pain, swelling, redness and irritation. The side effects of Cadomer Ointment do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not use Cadomer Ointment if you are allergic to any of its components. Avoid using Cadomer Ointment in more than prescribed doses or for a longer duration as it may cause adverse effects. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines you take before taking Cadomer Ointment to rule out any side effects. Iodine may cross the placental barrier.   • Leg Ulcers:Cadomer Ointment treats leg ulcers by reducing bacterial load, promoting a suitable environment for wound healing, and enhancing tissue repair.
  • Diabetic Ulcers:Cadomer Ointment is suitable for treating diabetic foot ulcers, by controlling infection, promoting granulation tissue formation, and facilitating wound closure.
  • Pressure Ulcers:Cadomer Ointment effectively manages pressure ulcers (bed sores) by controlling bacterial colonization, reducing odour, and promoting a moist environment for wound healing.
  • Infected Wounds:Cadomer Ointment treats infected traumatic and surgical wounds by reducing bacterial load, promoting drainage, and creating an optimal environment for wound healing and tissue repair.

Directions for Use

  • Use Cadomer Ointment as directed by your doctor or as per the instructions on the label.
  • Cadomer Ointment is for external use only.

Storage

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.• Keep Cadomer Ointment out of reach and sight of children. • Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

Drug Warnings

Do not use if you are allergic to Cadexomer Iodine or any other ingredients present in Cadomer Ointment or if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding mother. Avoid using other topical products/medicines with Cadomer Ointment unless prescribed by the doctor. Cadomer Ointment is contraindicated to use in patients with known or suspected iodine sensitivity, Hashimoto's thyroiditis (an autoimmune disorder), Non-toxic nodular goitre (noncancerous enlargement of the thyroid gland), Patients with a history of grave's disease (an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones). So, inform your doctor about your health condition and all the medicines you take before taking Cadomer Ointment to rule out any side effects.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Shower on a regular basis and properly dry yourself before clothing.
  • Take warm baths with mild soap. Don't share your bedding, towels, or clothes.
  • Wearing tights or tight underwear is not recommended.
  • Do not scratch the infected area. Scratching the infected skin area may spread the illness to other body parts.
  • Avoid harsh soaps and deodorants or any such products.
  • Avoid intercourse till the thrush is treated.
  • Avoid or limit your consumption of alcohol and caffeine.
  • Reduce your intake of sugar, yeast, refined carbohydrates, and mouldy foods.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and keep your surroundings clean.
